My incredibly talented sister, Mary Myers Obenauf “Mary O,” was both a gifted artist and a beloved California art teacher who devoted her career to uplifting at-risk students. She didn’t just teach art; she helped young people believe in themselves, offering encouragement that reached far beyond the classroom.
After her small-cell lung cancer diagnosis, Mary faced her final 17 months with humor, grace, and the same vibrant spirit she brought to her students. In those months, she showed me years of artwork she had lovingly stored in an old suitcase that perfectly captured her whimsical imagination and joy. I decided to turn them into note cards to help with her medical costs, which revealed how deeply her creativity resonated with others.
I created this site to honor Mary’s life and share her beautiful artwork with the world. Please feel free to explore the Gift Store and browse through the many categories of prints and unique products inspired by her work. The site is still a work in progress, so if you have any trouble navigating, don’t hesitate to reach out at maryosimagination@gmail.com. Enjoy your visit, and be sure to check out her bio. You can also join our community on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest to help keep her memory and legacy alive.
